Got the tent in 1997, lasted me 10 years, and roughly 300 nights out. Very simple, easy to set up, roomy when properly staked, High ceiling. Took it backpacking in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Mexico, Canada and a dozen states in the USA. Great for lending to friends because it's easy to set up.

Zipper finally ripped out, fly became an extra ground cloth, stakes were salvaged. I use my equipment a lot and considering the amount of use it had I was very satisfied.

Not good in gale force winds but great for everything else.

I got this to replace my old coleman dome which was too big to set up in many areas. Two average sized people can fit in comfortably, and I can almost stand completely straight up, which is convient for changing. It rained the first time we used it, but no leaks! Good tent for the price, but maybe a little big for backpacking.

Customer Service

Great mailorder company. Good prices, good, fast service. Great catalog.

Great tent, packs away good - especially with the use of a compression sack, clips are easy to use, could be improved with a larger rain fly, good tent for the money

Customer Service

Excellent, both in the Seattle store and on-line.

This review is for the Camp Hut 4. The tent replaces my old mountain hut 6. My wife can stand up in this tent (very important to her). The tent is very easy to set up. The rain fly really works as does the tub floor. the tent is well ventilated and hasn't leaked in some really driving rain. Best of all, it was relatively inexpensive and guaranteed by REI to work.

Customer Service

My old tent had a broken zipper. REI fixed it for a nominal cost within a week. I have always been well received by helpful people at the REI service desk. I have been a member since the mid-1980's.
