I bought this tent after having a tent brake on me in a storm. I researched long and hard for 3 1/2 week trek in Nepal. I bought the 3R with side windows.
Simply put- awesome.
since 1993 it's logged well over 100 nights- in conditions as wet as Washington state and Oregon, Hawaii, multiple week long treks in Peru.
I've slept 4 in it when needed (cramped), 3 is OK, but on a long trip this tent really shines with 2 people.

A true 4 season tent. It has sustained some serious winds I would estimate 60 mph at least and I don't doubt the claims of 100 +. You just need to set it up correctly to do this (readjust the tension as the tent stretches) and read the extensive instructions.

Condensation is the ONLY problem, but not much of one- just wipe it up or open the side vents. Vestibules that are on ground would be nice but the extra interior storage offsets this for me. This makes it hard to cook inside the tent.

Love those side windows (somehting like 5'x2.5' on each side.
So light.
I just bought the 2R with side windows.

As for the price. Consevatively, with over 100 days at $625 or so= <$7/night for sleeping for 2-3. Low weight, quality, tons of space. Nothing will come close.

Customer Service

Great. I've spoken to Jack myself on several occasions.

I have had my warmlite 3RS for a little over 8 years. I love it. I still have yet to get stuck in a bad rainstorm with it, but have spent a night with a fair amount of snowfall. If you anticipate snowfall, or windy conditions, I would recommend the 3rd (center) pole. Two poles come standard and I have gotten by with them for this long, but the 3rd pole would be nice for inclement weather to keep the center of the tent from deforming as much under snow or from side wind. I got the double-wall construction with 2 full-size side windows. The full size windows are wonderful for fair weather camping and even great for seeing the moon and stars at night. The double-wall and built-on rainfly make it super cozy on cold nights. It vents well. The space-to-weight ratio of this tent is amazing. It's like a lightweight hotel for 2 people with room for boots and gear inside the tent and room to stretch out. It's easy to set up as well. I would recommend it.

Customer Service

So far, I have only dealt with Stephensons when I ordered the tent. I have had no problems or repairs. They were nice to deal with. Check out their website for good info.

I was intrigued by Stephensons’ lightweight, interior space, and four-season performance. Hiking with a total hip replacement for 15 years, one looks for ways to lighten the load. I have always been uncomfortable with the Go Lite philosophy and Stephensons’ tents seemed an excellent compromise. Thanks to our nations 2001 tax refund windfall I took the plunge and purchased a 3R with one double zipper door and side windows. My wife and I have used the tent for two extended backpacking trips in Washington State’s Alpine Lakes and Pasayten Wilderness areas. Customer service from Stephensons and workmanship of the tent are impeccable. The tent is much stronger than it appears; however, one needs to be intelligent in its use. Stephensons includes an instruction pamphlet and video that reviews how to seal, set up, and care for their tents. Following their time tested advice set up is quick and easy. The gentleman who complained about the tight tolerances between the pole sections, with all do respect, either failed to read or ignored the suggestion of using silicone spray on the male ends. Doing so prior to a trip guarantees that the sections slip effortlessly together. No tent is perfect; there are always trade offs. I have found the tent easy to carry, simple to set up, and providing sufficient room for my wife and I and all our gear. Condensation has been minimal on the single wall ends, interior light is excellent, and the tent was warm in twenty degree weather. The weather for our last two trips has been excellent, except for one really cold night in the Pasayten, so we have not had the opportunity to weather a storm or high winds.

I have had this tent for one year now.
It reallyreallyreally rocks.
There are condensation issues with this tent, but if you use the vents like the man says, it works.
And hey, @ 4lbs. and 50 plus square feet, you can avoid the walls if they do condensate.
Yeah, it's pricey, but talk about a palace! After you set this tent up one time, you will not want to go through the hassle of setting up other manufacturers vaudevilles of stabilizing contraptions. Well, I don't any thing else simple to say. If you have any ?'s e-mail me, I make a good sales man for Warmlite!
If you are looking to lighten your load, and have the bucks, get this tent. I suggest going for the 3R b/c @ 4 lbs., why not have some extra room.
