These poles are great for the $$. I was warned to tighten up the screw before I hit the -10 degree weather, but I forgot, and they did loosen up. A leatherman tightened them up in the field, and they were like new money. I was later told that BD keeps the adjustment loose until the consumer tightens the screw up, so just make sure you do that. For colder weather, consider wrapping some foam around the plastic handles, enough said...

Bombin'''' poles. I like the Flick Lock much better than Leki''''s twist tightening system. The flicklock is easier to use in cold weather and doesn''''t slip. You don''''t have to replace the tightening system once a year either like the Leki poles.?xD;?xA;?xD;?xA;One thing people talk about is the screw adjustment loosening up over time. It''''s unlikely it will loosen up over a few days of trekking, and even if it does you can just use the regular screwdriver on a swiss army knife to tighten it back up. It''''s nothing to worry about.?xD;?xA;?xD;?xA;I love these poles. Simple and durable, and you can''''t beat the price, 50$ for a pair.
