They don't fold up as small as some other brands, however, they are superior in many other ways. The baskets come off and on easily by screwing them on and off. Also, the suspension feels more supportive and has a 3 way adjustment. They weigh less and the segments lock tighter than other brands too. The anodized aluminum segments slide easily. I thought that the cork handles would be a weakness, however the cork is as compact/dense as any rubber handles. The flexible and shorter tips may keep them from being snapped off under stress which was a concern on other poles when placing the tips into tight spots.

THE BEST THING TO HIT THE MARKET FOR BACKPACKING!!!! I have very bad knees and these things make it possible for me to enjoy myself. If you think paying money for a walking stick is crazy, then you have never hiked with them. I thought have two poles was stupid at first so I Bouggt a Sherlock field staff, It was great but then I seen the value of having two when I did long hikes with heavy packs across fast streams. Then I bought my lekis. They stay in the truck now, I use them for strolls in the park.

Buy them, they will save youknee surgerys later.

PS The springs are quite and give you much better response when pushing off of objects.

i have used these poles about 2 1/2 to 3 years and there are great poles. the angled cork grips work well. not much trouble with the adjusters working their way loose after they are adjusted. just check them periodically during the day. i used the poles extensively in the mountains of north carolina, approximately 60 days a year.

problems: one of the spring adjusters would not remain on the setting i selected, this happened after about 3 years of use. i call leki and told them of the problem, i also mentioned the the bottom section of one of my poles was bent.

.

Customer Service

leki's response to my problem: they wanted to know my address so they could send me replacement parts free of charge. they even sent me a new bottom section with a new tip even though i was clearly responsible for bending it. i have since received the parts. suffice to say i am quite pleaded with their customer service.

the lifetime warrenty was honored immediately without having to jump through any hoops.
