Charlet Moser M 10 Mono Dual Point Crampons Crampons

Charlet Moser M 10 Mono Dual Point Crampons Crampons

DESCRIPTION

With the M 10s, no less than 10 adjustments ensure the perfect interface between the boot, the crampon and the wishes of the climber. Wires can be placed in three positions, letting you choose the amount of advancement of the boots and adapt to their shape. To accommodate your personal climbing style, the M 10s include two settings for blade length and two settings for inclination of the blades. Careful adjustment of the bracings allows you to choose from single-point or double-point and centered or offset. The vertical front points are forged for strength, toothed for bite, hollow-sided for penetration and ribbed for rigidity. The lateral front points are inclined for easy hooking and have small teeth for placement on small ice columns or bosses. The lateral rear teeth are widened to trace the shape of your boots. Rear retaining teeth allow for safe movement on snow on approach or decent.

Great buy if you have the cash. I bought them with the antibot plates which were chewed to shreds after the first trip. The teeth are vicious and more than adequate for alpine ice but very reassuring on waterfall. My only complaint is that when I used them for general mountaineering (yes, they're a bit heavy) the teeth directly behind the two frontpoints liked to bend outwards. I assume this was due to hours of my weight pressing on them on steep slopes, but all the same it seemed a bit odd, maybe it's just this pair. Anyway, nothing to worrying as the angle is barely noticable.
