I'm just starting into ice climbing and this crampon was about the best deal I could find. For less than most other single-mode crampons on the market you get mono and dual ice points plus alpine points and the spacers and directions to set the crampons up in virtually any configuration imaginable (symmetric, asymmetric, mono, dual etc. etc.) So far I like the dual ice point set-up best, (but this could be due to my inexperience) very stable. It does take a bit of time and effort to change the set-up; read the directions and look at the pictures VERY carefully (and don't try this in the field), these are asymmetric crampons. The heel levers don't feel as secure or burly as I generally like, but have been very secure in use. I'm not sure they'd stay securely locked without the safety strap though. Mated to my Tecnica Altitude Plus boots, they've been VERY solid on ice and mixed ground. One down side is that the toe bail is too narrow to fit my Koflach Degre' plactic boots, and I suspect most other plastics. Also, I'd be very surprised if they fit the top end of the claimed size range (47) since they're pretty well maxed out on my size 45 boots. The powder-coat paint makes it a bit of a pain to sharpen the points but is likely to help durability and perhaps reduce balling. Anti-snow plates are not yet available for these crampons.
