Grivel Rambo Crampon Crampons

Grivel Rambo Crampon Crampons

DESCRIPTION

Step-in 12-point crampons for steep/hard ice climbing. Drop-forged horizontal and vertical front points kick in no matter how steep the terrain gets. Nickel and chromoly front points provide shear-resistance and excellent penetration. Front point orientation can be changed or made asymmetrical and worn front points can be changed. Crampon structure is totally rigid with side rail construction for a stable, vibration-free platform. Comes with an allen key and an 8/10mm wrench that also fits with modular ice tools.

I've only used my Rambos with the mono-point setup. They work awesome. The mono allows precise placements and lets you rotate off it's single contact point for more gymnastic moves. The hood at the top of the mono prevents it from slashing through softer ice. My Rambos have never broken or given me any problems. The nut and bolt setup isn't good for loaning them to friends, but once they're set they're solid. My only gripe is that the factory heel spurs are junk and the difficulty of fabricating your own to fit the heel is high.
