The Black Diamond Momentum is a comfortable and durable harness. All the other harnesses that I've ever tried don't match up to this one in comfort. I've borrowed a Petzl Corax for a few weeks, but even sitting in it for about 5 minutes started to hurt my legs. I was able to hang in the Momentum harness for over 30 minutes and not have anything hurt me. I was actually quite amazed! Anyway, the only thing that I found about this harness that put it on the negative side from other harnesses is that it's a tad bit heavier (about 10-20 grams heavier), but whose that crazy to shave off grams? Anyway, the BD Momentum is a great harness. Go and buy it withought looking at other harnesses, because your research will only lead you back to this harness.

Cheap, comfortable enough for single pitch stuff, good gear loops, nice adjustability. Good for sport, light trad, TR'ing. NOT GOOD FOR: Hanging belays, long rappells, extended weighting. Great beginner harness, however i'm a climbing instructor and a technical rescuer so it is NOT comfortable enough for my all day needs. It got me through my first year of climbing, and it'll be there for my friends to use, but i'm getting a Misty Cadillac on pro deal to use from now on :D Great for anything where your not hanging out for a long time; but it's still better than a lot of other harnesses out there.

Customer Service

BD is pretty good about this, haven't had any issues with it though.

The Momentum is the best harness I've used in the $40 price range. Pay a little less and you won't get adjustable leg loops or as nice padding. Pay a little more and you might be getting features you don't really need. The momentum is the PERFECT harness for SPORT CLIMBING or INDOOR CLIMBING. The gear loops are stiff plastic, which is nice for racking draws. I do not recommend this harness for trad climbing (longer routes) or long belay sessions - the padding is good, but not amazing. Pros ... good features for the price (padding, adjustable legs, gear loops), light weight Cons ... not great padding for long use, no full-strength haul loop on back, rear risers are not quick-release.

Customer Service

I have gotten good service from BD on other items, but nothing applicable to this item.

Great harness for the price. Excellent gear loops, very sturdy. Easily adjustable leg loops are trim and surprisingly comfortable. I'm really glad I went with this harness.

The only harness I''''ve ever bought or needed. Comfortable (Well, as comfortable as harnesses get), cheap, and well-made. Only complaint: The sizes it claims are kind of on the large size. My medium is as tight as it can go on the waist and legs, and I''''m hardly a small person.
