I started out on this harness. It's really a schitzophrenic peice of webbing- it's got things no beginner would need (like a haul loop) and it has no gear loops on it. THere's no padding or any other kind of frills (save the pointless haul loop). Actually this would probably be a good mountaineering harness. Anyway bottom line is, if youre looking for an 'intro' harness, shell out 10 or 20 extra bucks and get something with padding and gear loops.
