I bought this to replace a harness I'd had for years and been pretty happy with. I wanted a harness that woud cope with everything froms sport climbing to mountaineering. I've had no problems whatsoever. The self locking buckles are neat, although it would be nice to be able to undo them all the way to fit over boots and crampons. The harness is well padded and comfortable even on long routes and climbing aid. The gear loops work well keeping gear spread out better than most. The system attaching leg loop elastic to waistebelt is unecessarily complicated though. Overall an excellentmid priced harness for sport, trad and aid climbing as well as being more than adequate for alpine use.

Customer Service

No problems from Petzl, their instructions are as good on this as their other products. Needlesports were great too with fast, free delivery. Although they did package the harness with two warthogs in the same box.

I love this harnnes! some times I''m working as a bellayer of 8 hours at a time with kids falling and flailing all about. I could not wear any thing else. Or If I''m route setting its realy nice! The gear loops are great so easy to rack to. as well as the little hole on the side of the gear loop to put a single carabener for keeping nuts and camps together. I wish it had a haul loop. Because rappeling head first is so much more fun. It gets a little warm because of all the padding. The buckles are very easy to use. I will keep buying them

I use the Petzl for something else as climbing. I''m a bowman at a racing yacht and wear the Corax on a race almost for 24 h a day without actually using it. But it''s really comfortable and getting even better when using where it is made for. After using different cheap harnasses this is perfect.

This is the most cmfortable harness I''ve owned or used. I think it''s pretty light too. I love the gearloops. The last harness I had was a bluewater and It was horrible; after hanging for 5 minutes my legs would go numb. Bottom Line great haness, good value.

You might climb a letter grade higher with this harness on. It fits great, the gear loops are superb, and I'm not afraid to fall into it. I've found the most rigorous harness test is route setting at the gym because you have rely on your harness for so long, and when you're uncomfortable you generally rush the route. Armed with the Corax, I'm willing to work a route, I'm willing to set a route and polish it if necessary, plus I can walk around with it on and forget I'm wearing it. There's nothing else like it from the other harness manufacturers. Stop searching, and buy this one.

This Harness is super comfortable. The leg loops don't pinch your delicates, if you know what I mean. Excellent freedom of movement and the buckles are excellent once you figure them out and get re-learn how to put the harness on right. Not having to double back also means one less thing that can go wrong. The plastic gear loops work pretty well. I wish they stuck out a little further from your body but now i am just being picky. My only complaint is that this harness does not have a rear haul loop. You can make do without but it would be handy to have. Petzl went through all the trouble of making the fancy plastic fastener than allows you to adjust the rise (which is bit overkill, a fastex buckle would work just as well, I don't know anybody who has ever wanted to adjust this on the fly) but the couldn't sew in a little loop that you can clip a haul line to? But this minor flaw can be overcome with a 6" sling and the comfort more than makes up for it. Overall great all around harness from sport to big wall. If you can only afford one harness ( like me) this is an excellent choice.

I just got done wearing it for 3 hours and im really happy i bought it. It is fully adjustable and comfortable. I was top roping and it felt great, didn't dig into my legs or leave me sore.
I bought it at Northern Mountain Supply. Their web site will not take web orders so call the 1 800 number.
If you are a memeber (which is free) you get 10% off any full price product. It was like 78.50 with shipping and it retails for 79.00
service is great there and I recomend them.

I was browsing around an outdoors store and noticed the Corax harness. It is quite eye-catching. Anyway, I tried it on with no intention of buying it, I already had the excellent Gourou. As soon as I put on the Corax however, the Gourou was no longer a contender.

The Corax is so comfortable and light. Needless to say, I bought it immediately. Simply the best harness I have ever used.

I demo'd the Corax and Calidris at my gym. As soon as I put either one on, I knew I had to buy one.

The double "no double-back" waist buckles are amazingly fast and fool proof. Because there are two waist buckles, you can center the tie in/belay loop perfectly each time you put on the harness. It's also a very safe design because the harness is ALWAYS double-backed--you just step into it.

I purchased the Corax rather than the Calidris because it was $10 cheaper and the ONLY difference between the two is that the Calidris has a one inch gap or space in the back of waistband for ventilation that I know won't make a hill of beans difference when it's warm out.
