I've owned this harness for three years now. Used it for toproping, sport climbing, TRAD and ice. The adjustment on the waist and legs is enough to fit summer clothes and winter layers. The only limitation is for hanging belays. The narrow webbing on the waist transmits too much pressure through the padding.

Customer Service

REI has always treated me very well.

N/A. Black Diamond Bod is same price or cheaper and has much wider webbing around the waist. My friends report no problems for hanging belays.

I found the trilogy to be very comfortable. I did have a problem with the cosmetic stuff coming apart but REI replaced it with no problems. I think it is a great value for a fully adjustable harness.

Piece of CRAP. Even the alpine bod, the pinto of harnesses, is as comfortable as this harness. The webbing frayed after even a few uses. I'm lucky I'm not a stump b/c all the impact force on a fall is taken on the leg loops. Although I hated it, i gave to a woman and she said it fit better than most harnesses. So I guess even this harness has some positive things about it.

If you're looking for an affordable, fully adjustable harness, look no further. It's not the most comfortable harness (padding is thin and not very firm), but offers a lot more than most harness in this price range.

Customer Service

hard to beat REI for service. any problems with the gear and they'll usually make good on it. just be aware that they will opt to repair it, before replace it. so before you hand it over, make sure you have backup gear or you won't be climbing for a few weeks.

The Trilogy is a great value. While the padding is a bit this, the harness is comfortable to wear all day. The leg loops do take alot of the weight, but I hav'ent taken a fall in this harness yet......
Great for sport climbing, esp. Top roping.

Customer Service

You just can't beat REI's customer service.
