I tried on various helments, and found the BD fit better than most. I can wear it alone or with a bulky stocking cap. After wearing it awhile, the straps have softened, and it fits even better. I often forget I am wearing it. In hot weather, I find it cooler to wear the helment than a cap as it vents better.

My half dome has done well repelling pebbles and saving my head from bumping under roofs ... but I have always had a hard time fitting it. I picked this piece of equipment because I trust BD and like its features, including the suspension system. It adjusts by velcro in the back, unlike the petzl crank systems that can catch on hair. I still find this very easy to use, but the helmet is often riding kinda far back on my head. Tightening it to keep it in perfect position results in unpleasant friction between the buckle and my chin. Consider these when you buy your next helmet: Pros ... lightweight, durable, simple suspension, style Cons ... tightening vs. sitting right issue

I pro dealed this helmet while working for REI last year. The helmet arrived a couple weeks after the order, very quick service for a pro deal.

Great Helmat. I have tried the Erin Rock and I admit that it is a good helmat. Look to the Half Dome if you want a helmat as good as the Erin Rock that looks better, is more comfortable and is less expensive.

I tried several helments years ago, and found them uncomfortable and distracting. When this helment came out, I decided to try one based on past experience with BD gear. I really like this hement! At first, the connectors on the nape strap were uncomfortable. After a days wear the problem went away. This helment fits with a folded-up balacalva, stocking cap, or with a bear head. I find that after awhile, I even forget I am wearing it. The chip strap buckle can''t be repositioned, and once in a while it bothers me, but isn''t a big deal. Ten minutes later I have forgot all about it. The headlamp clips are great. Simple, clean design, easy to use and fits great.

This is a great helmet is cool style - which shouldn't and wasn't my first thing to look at time of purchase. You hardly feel wearing it.
The only down side I see is that the closing buckle is on the side and rides on the cheek bone instead of under the chin. I have applied Mool skin to cushion it.

This is a solid helmet. It is not tremendously adjustable, but if it fits you it works great. I find the fit great with a OR windstopper hat, and adequate without. Although not as snug without a hat, it feels very comfortable in either instance. But what really sealed the deal for me was the great coverage fore and aft on this helmet. It provides great coverage of the forehead and base of the skull.

Lastly, this helmet does not look like a bucket. This should not be the first criterion when looking for a new helmet, but it doesnt hurt.

All of my experiences with BD have been great- it's a company run by climbers, for climbers and they really know their stuff.

It sits nice and low on the head and doesn't feel like you're wearing something the size of a basketball on your head as some helmets feel. It is very light too.

Not terribly adjustable. Just the chin strap and an leather/velcro strap at the back of the head.

I dunno if anyone else has had this problem, but the quickclip buckle under the chin tends to grab ahold of the hairs on my neck when I haven't shaved in a few days so that everytime I look up a hair gets ripped out. This creates a problem when I'm belaying someone and it happens and I suddenly get the impulse to shoot both my hands to my neck instead of keeping them on the rope. That's bad. I just try to remember to shave before I climb.

I actually do like the helmet though. It's hard to tell you're wearing it and while the comfort of the strap system is probably not A1, it is still comfortable enough.

Petzl Erin Roc is much more adjustable and also easier to adjust while wearing it.

I have never worn a helmet so comfortable! It doesn't give me a headache. It is very light. It doesn't hinder my sight when looking up to belay. It sits low on my head which protects it more. All the straps are comfortable and easy and quick to adjust, especially the size strap on the back of the helmet. The strap under my chin doesn't ride on my neck and choke me. It fits well even over a fleece hat. It stays cool in hot weather. It holds my headlamp on great. I have worn it on day long multipitch routes and totally for got it was on my head. Also, it is cheaper($59) than the Petzel Ecrin helmet($75) which, in my opinion, is not even comfortable. And I have received many compliments on the stylish look of my helmet. I recommend this helmet to anyone who hates to wear helmets and to those looking for a new style of helmet.

I bought this helmet sight unseen. My mistake! This thing may be stylish, minimal and light but the size and adjustability made me exchange it the very next day for a Petzl Ecrin-Roc.
It simply was almost too small for my average-sized head. And with a HAT on??? Forgetaboutit!
The only helmet size adjustment was the velcro nape strap and the chin strap is difficult to manipulate while wearing it. Fashion before function seems to be the rule for this one.
