Garmont Fusion Mountain Guide Mountaineering Boots

Garmont Fusion Mountain Guide Mountaineering Boots

DESCRIPTION

Alpinists need a boot that feels like a backpacking and trekking boot. Garmont has responded by fusing Pebax midsoles to comfortable Leather uppers. Long lasting toe and heel caps are molded into a solid durable signle unit that adds torsional stiffness to the boot without adding great amounts of weight.

Mountaineer

If you have a full volume foot (EE+) and moderate to high arch, plus you want all of the features of a Nepal Top, this is the boot for you. The narrowness of the La Sportiva high end boot line forced me to look at several other options. The Garmont Fusion Mountain Guide works very well as a full-on mountaineering boot that is adept to any situation from long approaches, scrambling, steep snow/ice and cold conditions. I have spent over 15 climbing days to date and I have no complaints or desire to change anything.
Being someone who is very particular about his gear and not afraid to spend for quality, I have no reservations about recommending this boot to others.

Other models tested include Salomon 9's (both), Lowe, La Sportiva and Koflach.

Customer Service

Excellent - I was trying to get info on the outsole, the "Vibram Ranger" and was assisted by Garmont Italy as this outsole was developed specifically for the boot. They provided me with the info and graphics.
