1st pair of mountaineering boots I''ve bought. They are fantastic. The flex is nice, comfortable. They keep my feet warm and after treatment with Nikwax, they are waterproof. They take a pair of Newmatic Grivel crampons with no problems and also do well with snowshoes. I''ve put about 30 miles on them so far in the snow and scree and they have performed well. Coldest I''ve been in with them is about 2 degress F, and with wool socks and liners, my feet were warm.

These boots feel great, appear to require no break in, hike well with a back and rock scramble very well. Very comfortable. They seem perfect for backpacking and scrambling. However, after about 20 miles of use they started to fall apart on me, with the leather on one of the boots separating at the seams, so I will have to return them, which is a real pain and indicates some quality control issues at La Sportiva.

What a grat boot that will fit in your foot like your old boots. Very confortable and stiff on broken trail. The impermeability give you a grate protection against the river, rain and water. The height of the boot protect the ankles and the softness of the sole is ideal for the knees.
