after looking at the nepal top and the other brands i found the nepal tops were lighter and more comfortable than the clunky plastic boots. i didn't think leather would be warm enough but i was wrong. i don't even have the insulated kind(extremes)and don't need them either because with a good sealing, there ready to rock right out of the box. they fit supperbly to my foot and with no hot spots after a full days use. all in all, therrrrre grrrreat!

Customer Service

i have not needed the service department because this boot is very well made.

After extensive online research followed by trying on the several finalist boots, I settled on the Nepal Extremes. Others I tried on felt good; the Extremes felt GREAT! Tried to break them in with ten miles of hiking prior to first climb Didn't need to... they felt broken in from the first step! My first climb with them (Mt. Hood) proved their comfort, performance, and worth ten times over. My Black Diamond Sabretooth crampons stuck to them like glue. I just don't believe you can go wrong with this beautiful boot.

I have used the La Sportiva Nepal Extreme for one year now and have retired my plastic boots from a lot of climbing. I have climbed in my Nepal Extreme's on Orizaba and Aconcagua. They are just as warm as any plastic boot on ice to zero degrees. They were crampons well and most importantly, when hiking without crampons they are a joy. Instead of attempting to move hard boots with out any rocker or movement I feel like I am in any hiking boot. The only draw back the loss of the inner boot to wear in a tent or for a quick run to the john. However, a down booty substitutes better and is lighter over all. The booty can also be warm at night if conditions get bad.

These are the last tech boots you will ever need. I have used them for ice climbing and mountaineering under a wide range of conditions and have found that they are the best boots I have ever used. I have a hard foot to fit, but they are a great boot right out of the box. Don't even think about the price, they are well worth it.

I bought my Nepal Extremes two years ago and have not put on my old plastic Scarpa boots since and don't plan to. These boots have been the answer to all of my prayers. I have used them ice climbing and mountaineering and have found that they are great at both. I have even worn these boots on a four mile snowshoe approach to a climb and not had a single uncomfortable moment. Everyone should have a pair but good luck finding a shop that carries them. PS dont buy them from some lame corporate web site.

I have found the Nepal Extreme's amazing to walk in, compared to my old Koflach Para's. They are warm but I make good use of the ensolite cut out for crampon use.

I have very narrow and long feet (13/46 AA) and they fit better than any other insulated, that I ever tried.
