Stoppers were my first set of nuts and will probably be my last set. The slight curve is perfect many placements but not too radical so that you can still plug them in ideal Frost Sentinel-style placements (1 in a hundred). The durability is amazing and the color coding on the swedge is very helpful, although not as sweet as Smileys Wedgies. Wedgies are very similar in shape and can act as a good substitute. I always bring stoppers for trad, aid, or anything in between because their time-tested shape and durability inspires a lot confidence. The base of many climbers' rack.

For passive pro, it usually comes down to what you learn with. Most of the guys I climbed with used Stoppers, so I followed and cleaned their Stoppers when I was learning to climb. Then I hooked up with a good friend and excellent climber that loved WC Rocks. Next, I climbed a few seasons with a guy that loved Wallnuts. Throughout all the past four or five climbing seasons, I've always returned to my Stoppers as a preferred unit of protection. If I don't know what lies ahead on the pitch above me, you can be sure to find some Stoppers on my rack. Hell, I even bring a few on sport climbs whenever bolts are suspicious or too far apart. Chouinard did it right the first time thirty years ago, and all the other companies making metal wedges are still trying to match the meticulous sculpting, the perfect length, the rounded corners, and the spectrum of the complete size run. I don't have any problem telling people you can't go wrong with a set of Stoppers - they're great.

BD Stoppers are easy to rack, easy and solid to place and easy to remove. With 13 stoppers in the set and in addition to the micro stoppers you will be sure to get that bomber placement.
Highly recomended.

I got my set on sale. They're great! Easy to place and remove. They dont have a rubber-coated loop at the bottom, and I'm glad because you can fit more on a biner this way. I like them a lot. I have talked to several other people and they all love their Stoppers too! All of Black Diamond's gear is great.
