I had never even seen a Tri-Cam before my climbing partner clipped a set on my rack. My first experience was after totally missing a route that was supposed to be an easy 5.8 climb. As I aided over my third overhang, I knew we were way off route, but what the hell it was good climbing. I had placed a size 2 Tri-Cam about 30' below the overhanging bulge I was working. Between the Tri-Cam and the shaky knife blade I was standing on was another questionable knife blade and a tied off lost arrow. As I put my weight on the etrier, the blade popped out sending me backwards off of the bulge. I zippered, pulling out the 2 pieces of protection below me, only stopping when I reached the Tri-Cam. It wasn't a 60' direct fall, more of a bounce, slide then airborne, but regardless I was sold and have since added a set of Tri-Cams to my rack. They are the first thing that I reach for now when things get "clinchy".

Really great peace of pro. They work will in pockets that cams wont as well as they are realy easy to place. The larger sizes are harder to place but the smaller sizes are great I wouln't leave the ground with out a pink tricam. I have doubles of the smallest 3 and I use them all on most routes. Plus there cheep and are good for setting anchers where you don't want o waste a cam.
