Used for top roping and leading. Owned for 20 months. The sheath has worn very well. Minimal frays on it and in fact they are so minor I dare even mention them. Elongation is accurate. It has a great sheath and that is very important when climbing in areas like Joshua Tree where the rock is very coarse and will wear a sheath out like butter on hot toast. I've seen it happen to Maxium ropes on sale at REI....They are on sale for a reason so do the research on those "sale" items. It took very little time to break in. I recall about 6-8 outings. It haqs been washed four times with mild soap not detergent and that has changed the look but the dirt content is reduced. Would I buy it again? Maybe. I wanna try the Roca and Eidelweiss. These would be my top three choices. One star for sheath performance, one star for hand, one star for duarbilty. One star for overall satisfaction. Less one star for price.

I recently won this rope at Live to play.Iused it on seven climbs during a trip out west. The rope has avery good hand even when new.Abrasion resistance was average or better. This particular rope is dry this feature proved to work well while we were doing a snow route in the Tetons.
