I use a pair of genesis ropes for ice climbing. The sheath is very durable, however I must say that I take very good care of it. The waterproof treatment still seems good after one good season. I used one rope on a mountaineering trip in Perou and apreciated the light weight and fluorescent nylon added to the sheath (makes the rope easy to spot in the great with a head lamp).
