This rope is a great all around rope. I have the 60m which i'm cursing about when stuffing it into the pack and hiking it in. But the extra length is very nice to have on multipitch trad climbs where you can climb longer between belays. That extra 10 meters adds up over the long haul.

More than anything though, this rope is confidence inspiring. The marathon sheath makes this rope a little stiff but i have never worried about it getting cut over an edge or torn up on cheese grater slabs.

I've used new england 10.5mm ropes in the past. While they "handled" better I think the sterling with the marathon sheath is a better product.

It handles well, doesn't seem to knot up on its own, is pretty to look at, feels nice, and is 60 meters long. I'm using this rope on Half Dome in June 2001 so that's when the real review will come in, but for now I'm quite happy.
