Strength:

The adjustable foot pegs are a plus. Many times construction dumpster rental will be paddling down the river with our feet out of the cockpit resting on the front deck.

Weakness:

None so far.

Paddler

I purchased the Sierra, a recreational kayak, new. Have used it for 3 years on both large creeks and rivers. I like the large cockpit. I have a bad hip and it allows me much easier entrance and exit than my Perception Captiva. It is also much cooler on a hot day. I have used the Sierra throughout the year. A sprayskirt helps maintain warmth during the winter. The Sierra is a very stable boat. The only times I have overturned it is when I run up on a rock and end up sideways. I usually take on water and end up rolling over in order to get off the rock. That's only happened 2-3 times in several hundred miles of paddling. Storage area is adequate. It is easy to put a small cooler behind the seat back and get a drink out whenever you want one. The adjustable foot pegs are a plus. Many times we will be paddling down the river with our feet out of the cockpit resting on the front deck. It's not a fast boat but it is very responsive when in class 1 & 2 rapids. I highly recommend the Sierra for those beginners and intermediates who are looking for a kayak to use for many years.

Customer Service

Lost a hatch cover. Called Perception and they gave me the part number and price. Ordered the hatch cover through the nearest dealer. Customer service was most helpful.
