I purchased the old 2001 style during a closeout sale. The vest is simply wonderful. Easy on & off. Easy to use unzipped but buckled when on-shore. Pockets very functional. No points of irritation with plenty of adjustments available. A great vest to swim in and all day wear is no problem. Lots of attention to detail, e.g., neo-covered waist strap and shoulder straps, zipper tab stay, flare holder, and reflective patch. I wanted a center zip as I am always wearing a hat. The vest has proven itself both in my sea kayak and my WW hybrid boat. While I was lucky and got a great sale deal, I would purchase this vest again at full retail with out hesitation.
