This is one of the warmest parkas on the market, and the first time you try one on you''ll see why. Plenty of pockets, and cut is generous. Planning on using mine on Denali in May, and am sure that I''ll stay warm with this downy lil critter. That is if I ever get my parka back from Marmot. I had the baffles come out in four places, and found out that the material used for the shell isn''t really down proof. Lost quite a bit of down, and still fighting Marmot aobut repair. Other than that it''s a warm parka. If I had to do it again, I''d probably go with the feathered friends Rock and Ice parka.

Customer Service

Pray to God you dont have any problems with your parka as Marmot is terrible about thier customer service. I have sent my parka in three times trying to get some baffling fixed. Now, two months late

god almighty, if you want warm, buy the parabt membrain. if you need an incinerator for below zero belays in wind, this is your pleasure. i cant imagine any jacket being warmer. i went out and laid in a snowfield behind my house in fairbanks at 20 below zero with an gore tex climbing suit uunderneath. it took over 30 minutes to even feel a slight chill. i had no pad or anything. what in the hell is that all about. any activity at all will have you reaching for the zipper pull. i would actually conider paying full price for this animal. i dont give 5 stars easily.

This parka is a good buy. For those of you who believe that "you pay for what you get", its worth every penny. The Dryloft was fine in the wind, and the down never compressed while in very high winds. The hood is articulated enough that a climber can turn their head away fronm the spindrift. The hood also can accommidate a helmet. The entire parka can compress into a small stuff sack (included) that makes carrying simple. There is a nice, deep internal pocked that I kept a 1L thermoss inside and had hot tea. For the price that you pay, it will keep a person warm on the coldest of storm days.
