DESCRIPTION

Indispensable foul weather insulation, the Chugach Jacket is a lightweight, all-weather alternative to bulky fleece. The slick nylon outer fabric slides smoothly under a shell. Great jacket, too bad MH cancelled this line. Has gotten me through 2 Minnesota winters with temps down to -20 ambient. Gets a little nippy when it gets below zero but that is with usually only one layer on underneath. all in all great windresistant, light, consistent performing jacket.

Great jacket as it fits well and is quite cozy. The warmth is remarkable and it akeen to down, without the worry of moisture ruining your warmth. It is light and windproof. The cuffs are really comfortable and the zippers are easy to run. All around a great jacket by itself and when used with a parka shell it makes one hell of a great combo.

I had a difficult time deciding between the Chugach, the TNF Nuptse or the TNF Cerro Torre. My decision was correct, the Chugach is all I wanted and more. The best jacket I have!!

I have used this in the Adirondack winter conditions for one season and have been warm the entire time. Down to -40F. I also enjoy it when it is not so cold as i dont get hot. It is the perfect layering insulation. Could be somewhat cheaper. A similar mountain hardwear down jacket costs only a few dollars more.

I received it has a gift. Keeps me warm with just a shirt underneath in 30 degree weather. I have no complaints. I have other pieces of Mountain hardwear and from my understanding from all the retailer out here, there equipment is very sturdy and worth the money. You also don't have to deal with feathers coming out like you do with down jackets.

This jacket is awsome. I took it on an eight day winter trip to Yosemite this winter and it proved to be everything I expected. I soon as I would stop hiking to camp I would throw it on and imidiately It would begin to warm me up. I took a fleece vest to wear under, but the only use I needed out of my vest was to use it as a pillow. In the mornings I would wake up to see sheets of ice one the surface of this jacket, yet inside it was still warm and dry. The exterior rip stop is very light, drys extreamly quiclky and is very water resistant (I've worn this jacket in short heavy storms around Austin...no problem). Moreover, this jacket totaly blocks any wind and is the an excellent remedy for fear of buying a down jacket yet to get it saturated with water (or sweat). The only complain Is related to the durablity of this jacket (ie the same light weight rip-stop that I love and hate), however keep in mind I am very rough on my equipment. Enjoy.
