If your looking for warmth, this jacket is great. Pro's - warm, light, packs small. Con's - looses down, you need a good hat. Just the thing for warming up after Channel swimming!

This is a great coat. I wear it to school every day. But I wear it out in the -20 cold in the snow of North Dakota. I got a great deal on the jacket. It has been the greatest investment I have made in a while. You have to get a size larger than useual because of the large amount of fill. I ziped this jacket with The North Face Talkeetna Parka. Together it makes a bomb-proof system. I love this jacket.

Doug was right when he said this was a good deal. This jacket will be a great insulation for the snowbooarding trips I am planning this winter for colorado, and Whistler. Thanks for the advice. I bought this jacket because of these reviews. I will tell you from personal experience that this jacket is a must have for anyone who loves the outdoors.

This has been a good jacket for the money. Some of the down is lost because of the fact that the shell is such a light nylon and that the quils of the down easily so through it. No feathers appear to go through the inside lining, however.

When I bought the jacket I intended to use it as cold belay jacket and also to wear around school(the latter is what I do more of), now the jacket has become a jacket purely for school.

The quality of the jacket is excelent but the durability comes into question. I have ripped the outer fabric twice, each time spilling the contents of that baffel all over the trail. I sent it back and got the baffel refilled with minimal hassel both time. However I learned from my mistakes and don't use it on the trail any more. Instead I rely on a Mountain Hardware Chugach Polarguard 3D jacket because of the fact that the insulation will not disapear on when the shell is ripped.

Customer Service

The TNF service has been generally good to me. I have sent an inordinate number of products back to them so I should know. The products are usually the problem not the CS.

I love this jacket. It is very light for the insulating power. I have two now. I bought my first one from Campmor a few years back and just recently bought one from ebay. I kind of lost my first one to my son. Mine doesn't loose any feather or down. I wish it had a Gore outer fabric. But what can you want for the price.

I bought the 700+ fill power version (there is a limited edition 800+ fill power Nuptse jacket now). Extremely lightweight, and yet very well-insulated. The jacket is comfortable and well-made (Made in Bangladash).

I have no problem stuff it into a smaller daypack (Jansport) when I am going on a short hike.

I wear the Nuptse together with The North Face Mountain Jacket. This is an excellent combination for me. I get the warmth of goose down, and the waterproofing of Gore-Tex).

Customer Service

None. I have no problem with The North Face products.

I love my Nuptse jacket! I would have to say that I love the fact that it doesn't have a big insulated hood. I only wear the jacket when it's really cold but I wear a hat in mild cold. Basically it's nice to have a hat seperate. Also, with the headlamp/helmet thing going on I think a big hood would be annoying. Put together with the Mtn Light jacket and you have a pretty good, versatile setup. The other climbers I climb with use the same setup. Pricey but you can get it now on Cabelas.com for $79! Great deal!!!

I must have gotten an extremely well made one because it is awesome. It hasn't lost any down through the outer or inner shell and keeps me warm no matter how cold out it is, and I'm talking close to 0 degrees F. The one time I put it on with a shell jacket because it was snowing pretty heavily I sweated my ass off. Worth every penny of the $99 I spent on it.

Customer Service

I had to send back a sleeping bag because there was down coming out and the bag was made in China where they have a nasty habit of mixing chicken feathers with the down which you will notice once it gets wet and starts to smell like a chicken coop, and they took it back no questions asked. Very prompt and courteous.

Nice in-between wear for those colder days but terrible in damp weather. Really gets wet fast so always wear under a shell. Not too windproof either. Still the original and it's there when I want to grab one jacket from the house. Have the vest too and I wear both equally as much. The vest is more practical for me with a fleece underneath.

Customer Service

North Face stuff is top notch. Their factory outlets have huge selections which makes me wonder why would anyone buy the stuff at regular cost. Too bad they don't have one in every state/province!!!
