this is an often underrated/overlooked piece of tough wear.
Just for the fact that the Late Alex Lowe wore that in many of his photo archives tells the story.
The Ultrawick doesn't stretch much, it's cut looser than most Base layers, rather like a 200 wt. top.
Its virtue lies in faster wicking, with or without a base layer, and many times abarsion resistant than any Capilene, Dryclime, Mirofleece, or Polartec.
It has the insulation of a 200 wt fleece in addition providing good wind resistance.
