I bought these pants on sale from REI a year ago and have been pleased with them. I wear them during general winter outdoor activities and they have performed well. The pants keep me warm and dry quickly when wet. Worth buying if you come across them on sale.

I agree with the comment below about the size of the pants. I found that the size fits tighter than expected. I wear a medium in all bottoms and found the medium size in these pants was too small. I had to return the mediums to REI for a large.

Customer Service

My experience with REI customer service has been great. They have been very easy to work with and appear to be concerned with customer satisfaction

Got 'em on sale a few years ago. Mine, too, are a bit snug for the size. Polartec is indeed better than cheapie fleece. It holds up better to wear, and when it does pill, it does so in a uniform fashion. REI did a good job with the banded waistband on these, too. I must admit I hate the self-fabric pockets, which are useless and do nothing but cause bulk. They could have made the interior pocket with a thin fabric, but instead you end up with a triple layer of 200 wt. fleece there. Kind of like a wonderbra for the waist, for which I have no fetish. If I was a better with a needle and thread, I'd cut the pockets out and sew up the holes. That said, I still dig these pants. Great for lounging around the campsite or easy hiking. Don't even bother to try to keep dog/cat hair off these, just give in.

Customer Service

You cannot beat REI's customer service.

Cotton fleece "sweat pants." Great fifteen years ago, but woefully inferior to Polartec. Whodah thunk we'd be paying top dollar for polyester??

These are a pretty good set of pants, and in my experience, Polartech fleece outlasts generic fleece when it comes to pilling and durability. Compared to some other brands (TNF, Patagonia) they are very well priced. Only complaint is that the fit is a bit snugger than they should for large

Customer Service

REI has good customer service

Got them on sale; probably wouldn't pay full price. They don't really seem to be any improvement over the cheaper ones I have from Campmor. I basically believe fleece is fleece, and for something that is an interior layer, I thinks it's even more true. Both seem to insulate fine, dry quickly, etc.

Customer Service

REI has always been good in my experience.
