This jacket is very well thought through with, despite the low weight, many useful features (Lowe lists them on their website). The fit is amazing and the sleeves are truly high reach. The hood works great with or without a helmet. The fabric is the most waterproof I've ever used.
If it fits you as well as it fits me: don't even bother looking at the competition (Marmot, Arc'Teryx, ...).

It is, however, designed for mountaineering in harsh conditions and with lots of wear and tear: for any other activity, including summer mountaineering, it's overkill. then you're better off getting something much lighter & more breathable.

A Lowe Adrenaline anorak (275 grams, < 10 ounces) would be a better choice.

I bought this jacket about 3 years ago now. Soon after it came out in the UK and have never looked back. I have given it a real hammering, from trips to the French Alps, Scotland, Wales, the lakes and all over Australia. Cycling, climbing, walking, running and everything in between. I have washed it twice, after it started to loose its water repelency, then ironed it thoroughly and it is as good as the day i bought it. This jacket will be with me fo many years to come. Light, packable, comfortable, very breathable, ventilated, waterproof and easy to maintain. Th quality is second to none. I have checked it and not a single thread has come loose. This jacket is the dogs stuff sack! The best superlight waterproof shell out there.

Bought the jacket basically for general outdoor activity. Good windproof shell and pretty waterproof too! It's weight(the absence of it to be precise) made me choose this jacket. The only downside is the stupid construction of the piece of fabric you are supposed to hang your jacket from. After it broke i got a new jacket from my retailer but i traded the pro for the flash.... Friends of mine had similar problems withe the pro.

Customer Service

ok although i think getting my jacket replaced so quickly was due to the excellent staff at Millar.

I bought this coat off of a friend and I have uesed it for almost a year! I LOVE this coat! I have uesed it almost everyday since I bought it! I take it snowboarding, hiking, and just around town. It doesn't shead water as well as it did when I first got it but it is still dang waterproof! It stays cool when it's hot out and warm when it's cool! Did I mention I love this coat! The only problom is that there are no pockets other then the cheast pockets but it is a small price to pay for this cool coat!

I used this jacket for weeks straight without a complaint, and actually sold a pricier Gore-Tex shell after I got it. I wouldn't trade it for anything currently on the market. In my oppinion as waterproof as Gore-Tex, but MORE breatheble, and tough as nails. I LOVE THIS COAT!

Customer Service

Too bad they won't send catalogs, and their sales reps. suck, otherwise more peolpe might want to sell their stuff.

I scored one of these at Lowe's factory in Broomfield for $80 - what a bargain! It has been an excellent jacket, and I have used it from wet summer trips through snow shoeing trips and it is very comfortable and breathable. The workmanship is top notch. When they say the pit zips are LONG, they mean it, too - you should be able to find a configuration for them that suits your own ventilation needs quite easily.

The one small nit I have with it is sometimes getting the two-way zipper started is a pain (especially with gloves or mitts on). But then, I haven't seen a two-way zipper yet that is free of that problem.
