Mountain Hardwear Ascent Tech Parka Shell Jackets

Mountain Hardwear Ascent Tech Parka Shell Jackets

DESCRIPTION

For those who like things simple the Ascent Tech Parka handles it all - town, ski slope, trail, and all the transitions between. The shell is soft, quiet, 2-layer, waterproof/breathable nylon taslan Conduit. Areas of high abrasion are reinforced with soft, durable nylon oxford. We encase the waist drawcord in a unique, suspended sleeve, radically reducing bunching in an area prone to wear. Pit zips extend from elbow to waist; their Simplex construction eliminates the need for bulky overflaps. The adjustable hood (which rolls up to form a collar) doesn't impede peripheral vision. Chest pockets are placed high to avoid a pack belt or harness, the elastic-edged inner pocket is perfect for stowing a quart-sized water bottle, and the unique Napoleon pocket can be accessed without unzipping the parka. Drawcords at the hood and hem can be adjusted with one hand, chin guard and chest pocket linings are soft fleece, and the two-way front zip has a guttered inner flap.

Great jacket just like Gore Tex except dosen't cost $400, Weared in a downpour in the white Mountains and water just kept on beading and rolling off. Great features like pit zips, and a hood that turns with your head. Would buy if you want something that works just as good as Gore Tex without paying so much.

The one I own is actualy a 3 ply Conduit (MH equivalent to GoreTex) with performed very well in a lot of different conditions. From heavy rain to snow blizzard, it performed like a king. A bit to "thick" for very hot damp weather.
