Mountain Hardwear Aurora Jacket Shell Jackets

Mountain Hardwear Aurora Jacket Shell Jackets

DESCRIPTION

Allotting precious pack space to bulky storm gear can be painful. But, with our Aurora Jacket, it won't hurt much. Every detail, from fabric to features, is designed with the weight-obsessed in mind. Made of Gore's new ultra-light, compressible, fully waterproof/breathable Paclite fabric, the Jacket has no hanging or laminated liner. This results in significantly less weight and bulk and also enhances breathability. Waterproof Simplex zippers at the armpits and center front are low-bulk and streamlined. Mesh-backed chest pockets can be secured open with Velcro for added ventilation. Drawcords have new lightweight cordlocks. When the clouds have dispersed, the Jacket can be stuffed into the inner security pocket for compact storage.

so far i am very pleased with this jacket.i am used to the mountain light jacket for year round.now when a shower or down pour comes i can put this on and be comfortable in warmer weather.one thing i like the best is when you put the hood on you can just zip the front of the jacket up and it will stay up on your head with out pulling it tight.nice and breathable.

The jacket is very light and packable. I initially purchased this jacket because I wanted something light for adventure racing. I used the jacket in the Mega Dose this past May. It seemed to do fine, but after one wash (I followed the instructions) the Pac-Lite had multiple small areas of wear that actually went through the Gore-Tex. From the inside of the jacket you could see the outside rip-stop fabric. Needless to say, it was no longer waterproof. I had this jacket ordered in early May of 2000 and mine did NOT come with simplex zips. Even though the catalog I had said that it came with pit zips and simplex zips all around, it did not. I am very suspect of the durability of Pac-Lite.

Customer Service

Mtn Hardwear did return the Jacket and give the store a credit, which I in turn used to buy a shell from a different manufacturer.
