Great bibs. I''ve used these bibs in Patagonia on the northern icefield, in Washington and on Denali, they''ve never let me down. You''ve gotta love the drop seat when the wind is riping so hard that it stings the fingers. I''ve had a couple of issues with the vast assortment of zippers around the drop seat, sometimes when the fingers are really cold its a little difficult to find the zippers and figure out whether or not you''ve actually close the thing completely...but that might just be me. The map pocket is great, but I don''t really use it as putting any thing in there (other than lipbalm or a lighter) becomes a pain. I''ve shwacked though some interesting spots and the reinforcements on the seat keep you from worrying too much about ripping the pants when you slide down a fallen tree of get into some sharp rocks. As I wear gaiters however, the extra reinforcements on the bottom are just extra weight, the crampons would shred them in a day anyway probably...protect your investment, go with the gaiters.
