Mountain Hardwear Nut Shell Bib Shell Jackets

Mountain Hardwear Nut Shell Bib Shell Jackets

DESCRIPTION

These bibs are a study in efficient design. They are cut high in both front and back for exceptional coverage, providing protection from blowing snow and cold drafts. The integral suspenders allow easy layer changes and the full side zips make putting on or taking off these bibs a breeze. The seat and knees receive waterproof, abrasion-resistant reinforcements and the inner cuffs have Ambush nylon edge guards, making for one tough garment.

This is a great piece as long as you don't try to make it do something it can't. While it is windproof it is water resistant. The seat and knees are water proof (good for sitting/kneeling in snow), but the rest will eventually let water in. That being said I love them for xc/bc skiing, they breath a hundred times better than my gore-tex pants. They are perfect for any winter/snow activities, while they seem light they have proved durable through many, many (too many!) falls while sking. Not sure I'd drag them over sharp rocks, but I haven't need to yet. Again, great piece for what I use it for (I'd definatly go for bibs since it is really a snow only piece).
