I bought this jacket a couple of months ago, during the big "end of winter" sales. I thought it was a great deal, and so i purchased it to replace my older Patagonia jacket. The first couple of weeks, i only wore the jacket around town, where i found it an excellent daily-wear jacket for going out anytime, adn because of the high-breathability, i was never too warm wearing it indors. Later on, the jacket got some more use when i wore it skiing 3 times. During those times, i experienced very very high winds, and alot of blowing snow, and my jacket always kept me warm and dry. I especially liked the hood tightener on the back of the hood. It was so easy to adjust, i was able to get it on and tightened before it could blow off. There was even pouring rain on the third day, and i thought i was in trouble because the jacket is only supposed to be water-resistant, but it still kept me dry regardless. The next week, i took it up to do some free - ice climbing, as well as to practise my ice-axe arrests. The snow was very powdery, and so everytime i fell or deliberately slid down a slope and then tried to stop myself, i got completely covered in snow, but the powder skirt kept it away from my clothes. The snow was easily brushed off, and i didn't get wet at all. I think this is an excellent jacket if you'd like to wear it around town or just daily, multi-function wear. It's also great for most snow sports, even mountaineering! I've heard from friends that it does great because if the high-breathability, and will still keep you dry, even in the toughest of conditions and storms, although it will never measure up to any of the waterproof materials. The jacket does well in rain, but if you are ever in prolonged pouring rain, you'll begin to feel moisture very soon.
