This is a well-made utilitarian shell that will last forever. As usual, Patagonia hoods are among the best in the industry, and the attention to detail is outstanding. The shell is completely waterproof, but the texturized fabric will wet out if it's not treated with a DWR. Excellent for skiing and most everything in the mountains--although it is not as breathable as three-layer parka like the Super Pluma or Torre. Customer Service Absolutely the best! They fix things for free that are ten years old and ripped through over use. they will keep repairing for your wear and tear forever. I got the patagonia storm jacket a year ago for my birthday. My mom got it at a really good price. I really like this jacket, it's comfortable, it has a nice design, and most importantly it is extremely durable and waterproof. I have often gotten stuck in the rain, ending up wet and miserable. I can always count on being protected from rain and snow in the storm jacket. I have also found that only a thin layer underneath this shell is necessary, it holds in warmth extremely well. Which leads to my only complaint, sometimes it holds the heat in too well and I end up drenched in sweat. The addition of pit zips to this jacket would make all the difference. Overall, this jacket is a really good choice for backpacking, hiking, and casual wear, if you can afford the regular price. Similar Products Used: patagonia snap-T |
