Excellent jacket, likely the best dollar for dollar value in a waterproof breathable shell, especially when it goes on sale (happens once or twice a year in REI's members sales). The pit zips and chest vents provide plenty of ventilation to keep comfortable on warmer wet days. More than worth the price, even if I had paid full price for it.

Customer Service

Great jacket. Totally waterproof and has decent breathability. With the pit zips and pocket vents open I've never experienced any condensation. The fabric seems very durable and has shrugged off many tree and boulder scrapes. The hood is awesome and the fit is perfect. My only complaint has to do with the hook and loop taps on the storm flaps for the pit zips. When open they can catch on the innner lining. No biggie. Otherwise an awesome jacket for an incredible price.

Customer Service

REI customer service is second to none. They stand behind everything they sell 100%

I was looking for a waterproof shell to use everywhere, skiing, in the rain treking around school, etc.. This jacket is great. I recently took it skiing, and it performed flawlessly. I wear it in the on those drizzly waterski days and it works great. I'm 6', and 150 pounds, and I tried on a few other jackets, from TNF and Columbia, and they just didn't fit as well. This jacket is cut slimmer which I like. The vent zips are a bit hard to use though. I needed to take my gloves off to unzip them. For the price I doubt it could be beat!

I bought this jacket as an exchange for an REI jacket that was years old and had delaminated. This jacket exceeded all of my expectations. Absolutely waterproof, and has great ventilation to boot. Not only does it have pit zips, but the upper pockets on the front double as vents (SD corevent style) Hood hugs head well, but is bulky when packed away. A very good compromise if you can't afford a NF or Marmot shell.
