Great jacket! I have last years model, but pretty much the same feature-wise. Only used for snowboarding so far, but its proved itself. Powder skirt is awesome and the cut of the jacket allows you to move freely. No leaks so far, either.

Great shell. Denali zips in perfectly for real cold weather. Never feel wind or cold, great all around with lots of pockets and nice features.

I recently bought this jacket to replace my Mountain Guide.
I was quite impressed with the style, colors and core vents. It fit me better then any other jacket has.
I am sad to say though that when I put it on to test the waterproof zippers and overall waterproofness in the shower, I ended up getting very wet. Even though the water was not pointed directly at the vents, somehow water had managed to get in through the core vent seams and not just a little but a lot of water.
If this had not happened I would have been very happy with the jacket. I prefer the core vents to the armpit vents. A much more sensible idea.
I would recommend the jacket to anyone, just make sure you try it out before you go anywhere.

Customer Service

I have not had any contact with The North Face yet. I am hoping that the Korean stockists live up to the warranty.

I loved my Mountain Guide. Tough enough to take backpacking and plenty of coolness just around town. Wish it hadn't worn out.

This jacket is wonderful! Lots of pockets and room. Made in China, but very well-made. I also bought The North Face Nuptse jacket. They goes extremely well together.

Great Jacket. Has meet every expectation I would place on such a pricey jacket. Been through rain, snow, wind. Has held up nicely. Worth every penny.

Ordered a discontinued pack from the store, they ordered it for me and sent it to my door. They really went out of their way.

The Mountain Jacket is the best jacket I've owned. I've gone biking in 60 degree weather and the extralong two way pit zips were great, I was nice and cool the whole way. This jacket layered with the denali fleece was great when skiing, never got cold. The jacket is not really light or packable but I always take it with me as a rainjacket when backpacking. My only complaint is that if you zip in a liner you can't use the powder skirt.
