I've got one winter in with these and they are awesome. Loose cut for easy movement. The full side zips are great, and the suspenders allow for a drop seat for the call of nature. Internal gaiters are nice for skiing. The loose cuff needs an external gaiter for ice climbing, or the risk of but rips. 3-ply Goretex is the way to go for breathability. I guess it's waterproof though I don't usually sit in puddles to find out. I have had some stitching problems with the internal gaiters, and the knees are reinforced so I got a small hole there already. The butt is not reinforced but that's held up to a lot butt-sledding down hills.
