I bought these primarily for general purpose hiking, and as such they are great- three ply, very simple design without such gimmicks as snow skirts (I use gaitors if conditions warrant). I have used these for over a year now with no durability issues whatsoever.

I like the fit and weight of these pants. They're perfect for backpacking. Light weight, not too bulky, fairly compressible, with full-side zips, which is what I was looking for. But the durability of these pants is questionable. I carry them with me on every trip, but have only actually used them 3 times. The area on the lower inner leg is already wearing through (the seam seal is almost showing). I will definitely have to ask Patagonia about this. I don't expect this from $200 pants, let alone from Patagonia (which usually makes bombproof products).
