The reset procedure for linking the heart rate monitor and the watch given below works perfectly. The reset button on the chest strap is inside the battery compartment. It can be pushed without removing the battery and consists of only a tiny piece of metal that must contact another tiny piece of metal. If you look under the battery you will see a sticker that identifies this reset button.

Here is the reset fix after replaced battery.

The re-initialisation steps for the Nike C10 and CV10 digital HRM's is:

(1) reset the watch
(2) open the battery door on the chest strap
(3) move the watch to RUN mode
(4) press the reset button in the chest strap battery area
(5) put the battery back in the chest strap (if it's not already in - it's possible to push the button without removing the battery)
(6) hold both of the electrode to create a signal (probably not necessary - it usually links immediately).

My suggestion is to use a very thin needle and do it with the battery in the hrm.

I have had this watch for over a year and I am starting to hate it. First the watch stopped keeping track of mileage, but everything else worked. Now I just replaced the battery and the start button won't work. I am frustrated with this watch, the manual, and the lack of support.

I love the watch. I do triathlons and wanted to test it today. When I swam with it the heart monitor did not register. Your other people sending reviews said there is a website and a trick but did not mention what it was.
Need assistance, or does it not register in the water, in which case it is not what I need. thank you. Hope there is an answer since I like all the features. Edited 11-21-2007 Try http://www.heartratemonitor.co.uk/nike_heart_reset.html for "trick" to reset HRM.

My watch was working great until I had to replace the battery... now I'm stuck with a very expensive stop watch because I have no idea how to synch the chest strap! It is very frustarating...I was not able to find the website with the "trick." I do not reccomend this watch.

A wonderfull product, even if it took me some time to synchronise the chest strap with the watch (there is a trick that you need to find on the web).
But, after calibrated the distance measurement sensor, it works perfectly well with a great accuracy.
Now, I feel free to change my training path: at the end the Nike Triax will tell me everything about it (distance, average/max velocity, time in/above/below the training zone...)

the manual for the nike triax cv10 is uterly useless, it's obvious that they never tried to use it themselves before putting this out in the market. strongly suggest it as a DO NOT BUY!
