Okay, I confess, I'm not a trail runner. What I am is a poor college student that had $70 to spend on a pair of shoes. The catch being, I needed something that would be comfortable for walking (ALOT of walking), work for jogging, and look smart with a pair of slacks. Mission accomplished. I sometimes choose my Blades over my nice Solomon packing boots for day trips, and the Blades perform well slogging up creeks. As for running, these shoes are great on the road or track and seem to have excellent grip on the trail. Comfortable, waterproof, versatile. I highly recommend these shoes.

I had previously owned the 99 Blades, and loved them so i thought i'd have a go at the newer model. Overall performance is great, 80% of the time they stick to the trail like glue, and comfort is still superior. However, the fit is a bit roomier..unfortunate for me as i have a low-volume foot. I purchased a men's 10 both times, and the second time the shoes were larger than the first in width and length by about 1/2 inch! Still a great product and my favorite all around shoe, but the new soles wear a bit too fast for real trail running.
