We have two ... one for my wife who walks, and one for me for jogging. I think they are very good. The user who complains that they don't have all the features must either have a broken one, or is not operating it properly. All functionality works on mine. Yes, you have to measure you stride for walking and running seperatly, do it once, then you can switch between walking and running modes. You also enter your weight. This way it calculates your calories consumption. You can set the clock. The timer runs when you are moving and stops while resting, so you have a total time of exercising. That, along with the 7 day memory shows tracks your daily excercising durations. It is a bit difficult to open, but that is a small issue. A light would have been nice. At the end of your walk/jog, you can see total calories burned, speed, distance, duration(timer), number of steps, steps per mile. It also shows in Miles or Kilometers. Don't pay more the $35.

I too have had problems with my sportline 360 pedometer. It does seem to open hard and on top of that I can't get the mode button to change over to all those other features it is suppose to have. All it is able to do is count my walking in miles and the hours.Ican't even get the reset button to work. All the things it promises aren't there.

I was surprised to find pedometers cannot be perfectly accurate! You must maintain an even stride or it starts getting off... You also have to enter your average stride (based on a stride/feet ratio they show you in the instructions) You must do this if you're walking, hiking or running. Each time you change, you must enter the new ratio. I guess I expected it to be magic and "just know" somehow how far it was going. It is difficult to open, especially with gloves on. I don't understand why they don't have a light on the thing. Even my cheapest sports watches have a light.

All this said, my wife and I run 2-3 miles early in the morning and it seems to maintain a decent accuracy (within 2-3 tenths of a mile) I would take it back, but my wife is still trying to like it...
