IMO: The safest bindings are the high end Tyrolia(Fischer), Marker, Salomon. I'd stay away from the Look, Rossi, Line bindings because of the excessive travel needed for release. My opinion is still pending on the Atomic bindings I've been racing with the Tyrolia 'Cyber Carbon D9 SX' binding. A rock solid binding with; a DIN range of 4-14, Race Diagonal Toe, Full Diagonal Heel, Free-Flex plate. One of the safest bindings I've ever owned. They are made with substantial metal, so a little on the heavy side (All race bindings are heavy, because of the forces they must withstand). They are meant to Last. FYI: Same physical binding as the Fischer (FR17, FR18) and Tyrolia (FF+D18, FF+D17) race bindings without the new Fre-Flex "Plus" bridge PLATE (minus the two small springs) and Tyrolia 'Mad-Flex D9' binding. If you can find NOS(NEW Old Stock) on these D9's & D10 bindings at a good price, gobble them up you won't be dissapointed!
