Strength:

Easy to install on predrilled Atomic race skis

Weakness:

Heavy, gimmicky, with dangerous pre-release problems

Used the 614s for 4 months now (w/Atomic 9.20''s), and already had them replaced- same problem on this pair, completely unpredictable pre-releases- on GS turns, shortswing turns, even just getting off the chair! Cranked ''em down, made no difference- one of these times I will be chewing bark for sure. Spoke with several ski shops, and most admit to problems with the "soft-touch" Atomics. Would someone tell Atomic that gimmicks are not for race bindings? I never met a racer that messed with his binding position (forward/back), or needed "soft-touch".

Similar Products Used:

Marker MRR, Salomon, Rossi, Tyrolia (all race models)

Strength:

Easy to install on Atomic race skis (predrilled)

Weakness:

Constant pre-releases, completely unpredictable. Heavy binding with too much hoo-ha- who needs "soft touch" on a race binding anyway? And how many racers move their binding position forward and back? None that I know...

On my 2nd set now, replaced by the great folks at Northern Ski Works in Killington. Constantly pre-releasing- cranked up the settings, still released. Got a 2nd pair, same thing- happens during smooth carves, short turns, sometimes just getting off the chair (not kidding). Just can''t imagine racing these unless I had a death wish.

Similar Products Used:

Everything from Marker MRRs to Salamon to Geze to Tyrolia, all race bindings
