Rossignol T-Power Cobra X All Mountain

Rossignol T-Power Cobra X All Mountain

DESCRIPTION

This new ski is designed to deliver the short ski trend to intermediate skiers looking to carve up the entire mountain.. T-Power provides increased stability, edge grip and control--all in a much smaller package. Central Dualtec construction provides sidewalls under the foot for edge grip and a cap structure in the tip and tail for smooth carving. Built-in visco-elastic layer helps to filter harmful vibrations and increase comfort. An extra layer of visco-elastic material is sandwiched between the cap and sidewalls to filter vibrations for increased edge grip and stability.

I bought the Cobra's in a 167 as a "fun" ski to back up my T-Power Viper X's. Got a great deal on them so didn't bother to demo. Man was I in for a surprise. These dogs can move. For speed they give up very little to my Viper's but when it comes down to short turns, wow! Just hiccup and they respond. Fantastic in the fall line. Rock solid at speed (and there's plenty of it). Enough footprint for stability in crud. Great grip on boilerplate and hardpack. Even pretty fair float in the pow. And again, they will turn on a dime. Rated as intermediate skis....give me a break. They'll run the steeps of Taos all the way to the shutes of Jackson Hole. Wanna "kick but and chew gum....and you're fresh outa gum".....strap on a pair of these and take no prisoners. Strengths: need I say more Weaknesses: we'll see how well they hold up over the long haul with such ecstatic abuse

I demoed about ten pair of skiis in this catagory and these were by far the fastest and most agile I tested. These skiis can do it all. I haven't tried them on deep powder, but have tried them on expert trails in the Northeast; ice, crud, groomers, straight-aways, glades and they were incredibly stable. These skiis turn and hold their edge like no other, even skiis at a much higher price. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with these skiis. But I would recommend demoing several skis before buying... to think I might of missed these if I hadn't!

A nice, fun ski; carves very well, stable at normal speed. Impressive being so short. I bought a pair not long ago and often use them for "have fun"-days. I''m a tall guy; 195 cm, 100 kg - so they become way too soft for "serious"-days. A lighter / smaller, intermediate skier will love them; my girlfriend does !

I had demoed the next level up (Viper) and was uninspired. I then demoed these skis and after my first run I was ready to buy the pair. They''re extremely lively and fun to ski. They''re stable at high speeds and turn on a dime (partially due to the shorter ski). For $300 with bindings I couldn''t pass up the deal. I have, however, noticed a slight bit of chatter on the hardpack. Not sure if this is because the skis aren''t overly stiff and I''m a big guy or what.
