Strength:

For the price I paid these poles are awesome. The grips fit my hands better than any other poles. Due to the carbon-graphite and tapered design, they are so light you can barely tell they are there. The tips are very sharp, which is great for that crucial pole plant when you are skiing steep ice.

Weakness:

The very first time I used them they broke! The poles are tapered so that they have light swing weight, and one pole snapped off right at the narrowest part. I took them back to the store and they were replaced. Until I can tell that they were defective, only 4 stars. Also, the paint (which is more green than it looks)scratches easily.

The poles I have are not exactly the same as pictured here, I have the Smith Atrigon Z-Bend, which are similar. They are bent (not severely) and made of carbon-graphite.
