I got these snow shoes as a gift last year. I havn't tried to many different snow shoes but these have held up well for me so far. Seems like the bidnings could offer you a little more support but that's the only problem I have seen.

Weak. very little uphill traction, loose platform. Totally unimpressed. I actually think Tubbs makes some really nice shoes , I just don't think these are it..... But they may match your LL Bean mock turtle neck.

Good shoes. High quality. Don't have to worry about these things breaking. Lightweight yet sturdy. Best bet for the money.

Got a good deal on these. I weigh 175 lbs., so the 30's do the trick, though with a heavy pack they do sink a bit in fresh powder. I chose Tubbs because I liked the binding system better than Atlas or Redfeather -- the Tubbs have sort of a toe cup to keep your boot from sliding forward.
