Marmot Mens Poacher Pile Vest Fleece Tops

Marmot Mens Poacher Pile Vest Fleece Tops

DESCRIPTION

You could layer this dense pile vest under a shell, but then people wouldn't be able to admire its plush fabric! This vest has extraordinary wicking and drying properties, and is wind resistant for high warmth and wide comfort range. One of the greatest warmth-to-weight ratios of any pile available.

Very warm and comfortable. Fits well and moves with you without binding sensation. Zips into Marmot shell. Also, looks good enough to wear casually. Seems indestructable. Like most Marmot products, can be pricey if you pay full retail, but a good value when discounted. Collar is somewhat stiff when new and won't lay flat initially.

I definitely like this vest. Choosing a heavy pile is difficult, but not when you pick a vest, and that vest meets all your needs of warmth without bulky sleeves. I prefer chest warmth anyway. It allows me to be aerobic, without feeling constricte din my sleeves. The pockets are well cut, and the collar comes up to just the right height. Warm and reliable, if too heavy for true lightweight packpacking. I am very happy with it. Wear it on day hikes and all around town. Fairly windproof too, though this is not a claim of the manufacturer.

Customer Service

I did have a problem with the jacket - the zipper stop at the bottom fell off. No problem, right? Marmot is lifetime guaranteed. They fixed it perfectly at no charge, but the turn around time was 12 WEEKS!!!!!!! That is way too long, especially for just a zipper repair. I had to keep calling and calling. I like Marmot gear a lot, but if this ever happens again, I may not purchase again. Maybe it was a fluke, and I hope so.

This is a geat vest, its one of the few items that I wear both casually (I'm wearing it now) and use for technical layering. Its very warm and I layer it under my Gore-Tex jacket when its storming but I'm doing aerobic stuff, its got a great collar that when zipped really protects the neck, the waist and arm openings seal out the wind very well, plus its"cool" looking

Customer Service

As always, Marmot sets the standard for customer service.
