The North Face Mens Denali Vest Fleece Tops

The North Face Mens Denali Vest Fleece Tops

DESCRIPTION

The mother of all fleece vests, this is a TNF staple. A super warm layering piece for cold weather expeditions. It's also a great looking piece for around town. With it's abrasion-resistant reinforcement, this piece is also an excellent dry- weather ski or hiking outer layer. Compare to the Denali Jacket (you know, like the vest, but with arms...)

Awesome vest! Tried a few others, but for quality and comfort, TNF beats the rest. Zips into my Mountain Guide jacket for a great, mid-weight, waterproof combo. Taken it backpacking throughout the White Mountains on days when it started sunny and 75 and went to freezing rain and high winds without a hitch. Thought about the Denali Jacket but decided that a polypro top and the Denali/Mountain Guide combo would be more flexible.

This vest from The North Face is an absolutely wonderful insulating piece. There is a definate reason that it has stuck around in the outdoor world for so long. With the water and wind resistant nylon panels in the shoulder and chest the vest can even take a little bit of foul weather without a shell. Along side that is the fact the the Polartec 300 weight fleece is very thick and thus very warm. This is certainly not a warm weather vest. Since purchasing this vest I have all but retired by Marmot down vest. Not to say I dont like the down vest, but the Denali has proven to be much more versatile. Great piece, but certainly not worth the 120 retail price tag. My value rating is based on a drastically lower price.

A good, warm vest. Very packable, easy to bring along when it _might_ get cold. Slash pocket on chest is nice in addition to hand warmer pockets. I also have the Denali Jacket and the vest avoids the fitting problem of the jacket (see review) as it dosen't have sleeves. However, while the L fits perfectly everwhere else, the neck is a bit tight when zip all the way up. Over all a useful piece for late spring, early fall or mid-summer at altitude.

This is an excellent 300 weight fleece which keeps me very warm on those cold hikes. It works well under a shell while hard hiking up a cold mountain. I recommend this vest. I bought this vest new for $29 at a store going out of business. I also love to wear this vest a round town because it looks cool.

Really like the vest. Great as a multilayer under the mountain light jacket or just alone. Great for winter running and for those cool spring and fall climbs and hikes.

Customer Service

Customer service is great. Had a broken zipper on a jacket and was replaced for free.
