Classed as a freeride board, the CHB is nowhere near stiff enough. It's more like all-mountain freestyle for East Coast terrain or a big park board. The core isn't full length - you can see it ends well before the nose - and the board is prone to chatter and doesn't hold its edge well if you're carving steep groomers or tracked out/icy hardpack. So not forgiving at speed, and generally not what you want in a FR board. The edge ends as the tip begins, so anything you run over (or any dumb-ass running you over with skis) will take chunks out of the nose of the board. On the plus side, the flex means low-speed handling is pretty good. |

Bought a 167 wide with Agency Implant large bindings and Vans Hi-Standard boots US13 because the rest of you are short, skinny and have small feet. Just joking, I'm 1.81m tall, with UK13 EE/EEE feet and weigh 95kg (Lean mean fighting machine). Seems like quite a good board so far. Quite easy to spin despite looking HUGE the first time I strapped it on. Fit's my feet very well with minimal overhang in regular 0/15 degree set up and using the normal binding points on the board. Ok riding both regular or switch and no noticeable speed wobble yet. Quite snappy and stiff and a stable tail press/nose press is quite easy even for a newby. I got a bad deal on the price. Wait till the end of season sales before you buy. Customer Service I got a bad deal on the price. Wait till the end of season sales before you buy. Strength:
All around great board - very solid turns, good in all snow conditions
Weakness:
Chatters at high speed I'm reviewing the 2002-03 High Beam. I got this board last season as a beginner, and it rocks! Turns easy, lightweight, easy edge to edge. This board has taken me from bunny runs to black runs, groomers, moguls and fresh powder. As I've progressed, I've found that it is a little sketchy at high speeds, and sinks a bit in deep pow, but that could be that I need a longer board (i ride a 53). Speed, tough, dont need to wax all the time, forgiving, fun, flex, pop and price!
Weakness:
chatters a bit at high speeds and after 2 years of jibbing the edges are a bit dinged up. This is a great board for anyone its hella forgiving and its great on rails. I can nosepress soooo easily with this. chatters a bit at high speed though Similar Products Used: Rentals, Lib tech jamie lynn |

See review summary. General all mountain, freeride board
Weakness:
yes it does chatter some at high speed. Actually it's the 02/03 GNU Carbon High Beams I've reviewing. Solid construction, light weight, decent flex, wood core ends about 1.5 inches from the nose and tail of the board, aggressive sidecut and decent looking graphics. Laminated top sheets for awesome look and protection. Conventional 4 holes bindings (unlike the funky Burton's 3 holes). This board comes in a bunch of sizes so you can find one that would fit you. |

Strength:
Price, low maintenance (took a beating and it's still in great condition), great for jumps and jibs, turns and stops easily, picks up speed quickly
Weakness:
jitters sometimes at high speeds, not too good in deep powder (might be because i have a short 150), but otherwise a great board This board is sick and probably the best that i've had so far. The price that i got it for is very reasonable. Great all around board for all riders, regardless of skill level. If you're tight on money and you're looking for a quality board, this is it. Get it with Gnu G3 bindings, and you'll have one sick ride. Similar Products Used: Lamar Impact (sucks), some generic brand board (sucks), Burton Ross Powers, Rossignol ? |

Strength:
Flex, versatility, lightweight, price(even without the deal), and it's just all around kickass.
Weakness:
Someday I might outgrow it. This board is totally sick. I bought it for mad cheap cuz I ordered it from the company due to a pro-deal. It was an awesome price of 299 to begin with. I rode it, and from the start just going down like 10 feet i could feel the board, and it was way better than any I'd rode before. It's super flexy, very versatile, and out at Sugarbush, I noticed the powder-ability. This is a really good board. Similar Products Used: O'Sin, Ride, Burton, Lib Tech |

Great Board!!Picks up speed quick but a little too much flex and chatter sometimes. Took a beating and no dings at all. Great turning and very light. Purchased at a great price but next year might have to fork over some loot for the NeverSummer Legacy. Similar Products Used: Burton, Nidecker, Salomon |

Fast, strong, good pop
Weakness:
the side dents in a little after wrecking hard. This is my first snowboard so i couldnt tell u much. It is a 157 wide and it works good. My first day i tore it up on some rail setups and i hit about a 4 1/2 jump and did some tailgrabs and shi# like that. It worked out really well and i liked the performance of it, i landed it every time and its easy to keep balance on off of big ass jumps it seems. Similar Products Used: none |
