I have been riding the A-Star series from K2 for the last three years including every years model. It is a super fast and light board that cuts on a dime. This years board has deviated itself somewhat from the last two years in that it has horrific graphics and a plastic looking top sheet. It is heavier than the previous two years as well. Perhaps that was due to the serious breaking problem that K2 experienced with these boards for more aggressive riders. The AStar is the perfect pipe board but for backcountry/pow days find another board. The base is not the black Sintered 4000 which is superfast and was used on the last two years models. Still I hope that K2 does not discontinue this model after this year because it is perfectly dialed in.

Customer Service

K2 Customer Service is the bomb! They are fantastic however now that they have moved their production to China--well we will see how they perform this year.
